High Hampton
This North Carolina mountain getaway recently reopened after a major renovation by the Inn at Blackberry Farm team. My husband and I made the drive to celebrate our anniversary (22 years!) and breathe the mountain air. We loved our accommodations, the mix of colors and patterns in the rooms, the spacious bath and especially the porch with sweeping views of the grounds, the main building, the lake and the mountains.
The pool had just opened for the season and families and couples were sunbathing, swimming and enjoying lunch and cocktails at the pool bar. Later, I went for a paddle and my husband rented a fly rod for some catch-and-release action by the old mill.
Dinner and breakfast are included in the room rate, and the food and service are just perfect. There are so many cozy spots to sit a spell, reading your favorite book or thumbing though the collection of gorgeous coffee table books.
Golfers love the course here, but we opted instead for a quick hike before our return to the Lowcountry. High Hampton is great for a couple’s getaway or girls’ weekend. It caters to families as well with a fun kids’ club and a great summer staff.
Speaking of summer, Team Hello recommends rewarding yourself with a stay here after you deliver kids to summer camps around Greenville, Brevard, Highlands, Black Mountain or Asheville. Reach out and we’ll make the arrangements while you pack your croquet ensemble!
