My husband and I share a birthday, even the same birth year. So, for our 41st year around the sun, we stayed at Belmond Casa de Sierra in the magical town of San Miguel de Allende. Perched in the mountains of middle Mexico, this town is a dream for artists and foodies. Behind the colorful colonial walls lie the most amazing cafes, art galleries, restaurants, and boutique shops. We spent most days walking around the cobblestone streets while checking out historic cathedrals and perusing shops, in-between meals, and rooftop cocktails. We enjoyed a few days soaking in nearby hot springs with locals and fellow travelers.
If you are into gastronomy, history, and art, San Miguel de Allende should be on your must-see list!
